Accessibiity

Using the Severnside Housing website

Every effort has been made to make our website accessible and easy to use for everyone, whether or not you have any disabilities. It has been constructed to conform to level Double-A of the WC3 Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0.

Maintaining an accessible website is an ongoing process and we are continually working to offer a user friendly experience. If you have any problems using this web site please contact us by email at enquiries@severnsidehousing.co.uk

To assist with website accessibility we offer:-

  • Alternative font sizes - by clicking on the Font Size buttons at the top of each page, the website text font size is increased (+) or decreased (-) accordingly.

  • Alternative contrast options - by clicking on Contrast buttons at the top of each page, you can view the site as black text on a white background (standard) or black text on a cream background, or yellow text on a black background.

  • We also offer translation of pages, via Google Translate. Simply click on the translate box at the bottom of each page, and select your preferred language.

  • Browsealoud is a free download which allows the user to experience the content of our website using speech enabled technology - this enables you to listen rather than read our website content.

 Browse aloud

Using this technology, we can offer a more practical website access service to a wider range of people who may:-

  • have reading or literacy difficulties
  • not be fluent in English as it is not their first language
  • have Dyslexia
  • have mild visual impairment
  • just find it easier to listen, rather than read

All you need to do to install this free software is click on the Browsealoud button above and follow the simple step-by-step guide.
